Cracked servers are offline-mode servers that allow players using non-premium (cracked) Minecraft clients to join without Mojang/Microsoft account authentication. They usually rely on plugins for login/auth and anti-alt measures, and often have more issues with alts, bans evasion, and account security than online-mode servers.
