A skills server is usually survival-based but with a plugin-driven leveling system (mcMMO/MMO-style) where you gain XP in things like mining, farming, fishing, and combat to unlock perks or abilities. Progression and grinding skills is the main hook, often alongside jobs, economy, and sometimes light RPG elements.
