Towny servers use the Towny plugin (or similar) for land claiming and town/nation management. Players join or create towns, pay upkeep with an economy, set permissions, and form alliances or wars depending on the rules. The focus is usually on protected building, community politics, and long-term progression rather than pure survival chaos.
