Historical simulation servers are usually themed around a real-world era or place, with players building period-accurate towns and infrastructure and following rules about tech level, materials, and aesthetics. Many run organized factions or nations, roleplay, and scheduled wars or events to mirror historical conflicts, sometimes using custom maps, plugins, or modpacks to fit the time period.
