Servers that use a ruined, abandoned-world map as the main setting, usually focused on scavenging loot in cities/ruins, limited resources, and survival/PvP. Often paired with custom mobs, radiation/temperature mechanics, factions or small groups, and a focus on exploration and base-building in the wasteland.
