Roleplaying servers focus on players acting as characters in-world, usually with some kind of setting or lore. They often have rules around staying in character, plus things like towns, factions, jobs, and staff- or player-run events to drive stories. Many use plugins or mods for things like chat channels, emotes, races/classes, and custom items to support RP.
