Servers focused on surviving against frequent or wave-based hostile mob attacks, often with increased mob difficulty/spawn rates and progression through better gear and defenses. Gameplay typically revolves around building fortifications, cooperating (or soloing) to clear waves, and lasting as long as possible rather than traditional SMP objectives.
