MMORPG style servers add MMO-like progression on top of Minecraft, usually with levels, classes or skill trees, quests, and gear tiers. They tend to have hub towns, instanced or open-world dungeons, custom mobs and bosses, and a grind loop focused on PvE progression rather than vanilla survival.
