Servers focused on making roaming and discovery more interesting than vanilla, usually by adding custom worldgen like new biomes and structures, extra loot and artifacts, and sometimes new mobs or bosses tied to exploration. The main loop is traveling, mapping, and finding unique locations rather than grinding bases or PvP.
