Looking to join a Minecraft SMP?

Vanilla SMP is beginning its 4th season in April 2026 and we’re looking for new members who focus more on building, exploring, and lore, but make no mistake, pvpers are also more than welcome (we need some)!

While Vanilla SMP is a Java server, Bedrock players can also play since we have the Geyser plugin.

Season 4 promises to be our greatest season yet with the push to add new members and add regular server events!

We’re looking to expand our player base to approximately 60 or more players with the goal of making sure to have enough members in as many time zones as possible to make it likely that at least some people will be on the server at any given moment.

Vanilla SMP has players from all over the world and all walks of life including members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Typical player ages range from 13 to 20 with one who is 42 (a Dad like myself), and then there’s me Smash who is the server owner, a vtubing content creator on YouTube (SmashPlayz channel), as well as a streamer on Twitch, YouTube, and Kick.

Interested in streaming or making videos on the server? Feel free! Content creation is encouraged but is not required.

As the vanilla sounding name implies, Vanilla SMP focuses mostly on the vanilla Minecraft experience, but we also have a number of powerful plugins & datapacks that give you the following features:

Creeper anti-grief (deals damage to players, doesn’t damage builds), Geyser, CoreProtect, BT Graves, Inventory Rollback, BlueMap, multiplayer sleep, Sit Anywhere, player head drops, more mob heads, mini blocks, invisible item frames, game chat with Discord, Image Frame, posable armor stands, Via Backwards, Via Version, Via Rewind, in-game voice chat, and a lot of other minor improvements!

You don’t need to install ANY mods to enjoy all of these features other than Simple Voice Chat if you want to voice chat in game. Even this is not necessary if you prefer text chat.

We also have a superflat Creative Server where we can experiment and perfect our designs before rebuilding them on the SMP.

The servers from Season 1, 2, and 3 remain available to any members who would like to check them out or continue building on them even after the season has finished.

I host all my Minecraft servers myself on an Ubuntu Linux based Ryzen 9 5950X system with 80 GB ram so server downtime is almost unheard of aside from daily reboots in order for the system to automatically perform the daily backup. The server is fast and because I’m hosting the servers myself on my own hardware and not using a hosting service, the servers should continue to run for the foreseeable future.
