Servers tagged v1.8 combat use the pre-1.9 PvP system: no attack cooldown, spam-clicking for DPS, and different timing/knockback compared to modern combat. They’re usually on 1.8.x or newer versions running plugins to emulate 1.8-style hit registration and mechanics, common on practice, kitpvp, factions, and minigame PvP servers.
