Non-premium servers (often called cracked/offline-mode servers) allow players to join without a paid Mojang/Microsoft account by disabling online authentication. They usually rely on plugins for login/registration and anti-alt measures, and they tend to have more issues with griefing, ban evasion, and account security than premium-only servers.
