Servers tagged minimal modification are basically vanilla or near-vanilla, usually running Paper/Spigot with a small set of plugins or datapacks. They keep core mechanics and progression intact, but add light quality-of-life stuff like /home, /spawn, basic claims, minor anti-grief/anti-cheat, and small tweaks to recipes or mob behavior without turning it into a different game.
