Servers with this tag add non-vanilla mobs made with plugins/mods/resource packs, usually with custom models/skins, AI, abilities, and loot tables. They’re often used for RPG progression, dungeons, events, or harder overworld encounters where fighting mobs is a bigger part of the gameplay.
