Servers with this tag are primarily Java Edition servers that also allow Bedrock Edition players to join through a crossplay bridge (usually Geyser, sometimes with Floodgate). They typically have some Bedrock-specific quirks or limitations due to protocol differences, but the main point is letting console/mobile/Windows Bedrock players connect to the same server.
